The Gospel of Jesus Christ

The Bible teaches that God is your Creator and Owner of Everything
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and all who dwell therein.

The Bible teaches that our Creator is a Holy God.

Isaiah 6:3  Holy Holy Holy is the Lord of Hosts.
Matthew 5:48  ...your heavenly father is perfect.
1 John 1:5  God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

The Bible teaches that God created man in His image in a right relationship with Him.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.  And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

God created mankind as the pinnacle of His creation, unique and different from the other creatures He created.  God made mankind His representative in this physical universe. He made us in such a way that our greatest  pleasure and joy could only be realized in that right relationship to Him as our loving sovereign Lord,  living in obedience under His loving authority while carrying out the exercise of dominion over His created world for His glory as His faithful stewards.

The Bible teaches that mankind rebelled against his Creator.

Instead of  being content in that perfect fellowship (Genesis 1:31), man  rebelled against God’s authority (sin) being deceived to believe he could find fulfillment, pleasure and joy apart from God (Genesis 3) through exercising dominion over God’s creation according to His own wisdom.   And in that distrust & rebellion against God’s loving authority &  provision,  man  incurred God’s just judgment as God had lovingly warned would happen (Genesis 2:17).  The devastating result was that death entered the world (Romans 5:12).  Man was now lost from God’s fellowship and corrupted with a self-centered nature desperately trying to find pleasure, joy and fulfillment apart from God.  The results of one sin against our Good & Just & Holy God:  sickness, disease, death, guilt, immorality, strife, jealousy, anger, drunkenness, anxiety, fear, greed, war, lying, theft, (even the earth suffers from  man’s rebellion, Rom. 8:19-22)…all of us separated from God, lost from His life, in a cursed world & guilty before Him.

The Bible teaches that because of the rebellion (Genesis 3),  all mankind is born into this world sinners by nature, naturally rebellious against God’s authority.  All of us, by thought or deed, stand guilty of sinning against our perfectly Holy God. The evidence of our sin is in the lack of perfect obedience to God’s law…

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind & strength…  you shall love your neighbor as yourself.  (see Mark 12:30-31)
"Honor your father and your mother.”   (see Exodus 20:12 / Ephesians 6:1)
"You shall not murder.” (see Exodus 20:13;  anger Matthew 5:22 )
"You shall not commit adultery.” (sex outside of marriage & pornography qualify;  see Exodus 20:14; Matthew 5:28; 1 Corinthians 6:9,10)
"You shall not steal.”   (see Exodus 20:15 / Ephesians 4:28)
"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” (Exo. 20:16; Eph. 4:31)
"You shall not covet…”    (see Exodus 20:17 / Galatians 5:19-21)
Whoever keeps the whole law and but fails in one point, he has become accountable for all of it (James 2:10).

None of us have kept His law perfectly and we all stand guilty before God:
…as it is written, "None is righteous, no, not one;” Romans 3:10
…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
…dead in your trespasses and sins…by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. Eph 2:1-3

The Bible teaches that God, being perfectly Just, is obligated to punish all sin with the penalty of eternal death.

…He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness. Acts 17:31
… He will judge the peoples with equity. Psalm 96:10
For the wages of sin is death… Romans 6:23a

The Bible teaches that because of our fallen nature we cannot by our own efforts or works make ourselves right before God
to escape the judgment of His eternal wrath that we deserve.

… not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy…Titus 3:5
Salvation from sin & God’s judgment is,not of your own doing; it is the gift of God;  not a result of works, so that no one may boast” Ephesians 2:8-9

The Good News is that God is also a Merciful God.

God has consigned all to disobedience, that He may have mercy on all. Rom. 11:32
For You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon You. Psalm 86:5

In order to remain Just while extending Mercy, God chose to pay the penalty for sin Himself.  To accomplish that, God (who is one in essence yet a triune being (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) sent the Son to us adding to His deity, humanity.  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:34-35). He was born of a virgin in order to escape man’s sin nature.  Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh… fully God and fully man (Philippians 2:6-8).  Thus He was able to live a perfectly sinless life fulfilling God’s law for us and willingly suffered death on the cross as a sin bearer, in your place.  In doing so He appeased God’s wrath against sin and established a righteous standing before God for all those who will by faith in Him repent and believe.

Colossians 2:9 For in Him (Jesus) the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.
Luke 2:1-20  …his name is Jesus, for he will save His people from their sins!
1 Corinth 15:3-4  Christ died for our sins in accordance to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,
2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake, He (God the Father) made Him (God the Son) to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Jesus Christ lived a perfect life…for the sinner who couldn’t!…He died on the cross to satisfy God’s justice and appease God’s wrath for the sinner who couldn’t!…He was raised again on the 3rd day showing He conquered death and giving proof He is God and His sacrifice was sufficient for our salvation. So it is through repentance from sin and trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s provision one may have:  the FORGIVENESS of sin (Colossians 1:14),  PEACE with God (Rom 8:1),  His RIGHTEOUSNESS divinely credited to your account (2Corth 5:21),  His ETERNAL LIFE (1 John 5:13) and the sure HOPE of future glory and blessing for eternity (1Peter 1:3-4).

WHY He would do that for unworthy sinners like you and me?

God is not only Creator, Holy, Just, Merciful…God is also love. 1John 4:8
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

It is God’s eternal purpose to create then redeem to Himself a people for His eternal kingdom, to praise, honor, and serve Him forever and through whom He will display His wisdom, power, mercy, grace and glory. (Isa.43:7; Eph.1:11-12; Revelation 4:11)

If you are convicted of your sin against God and your need for God’s forgiveness, Romans 10:9 says,”If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” (see Luke 18:9-14)  Jesus Christ is that Savior who is no less than the Sovereign Lord of Creation (John 1:1-3,14; Colossians 1:16).  Being equal with God, Christ’s perfect life was able to satisfied the demands of God’s holiness and His sacrificial death able to satisfy the demands of God’s justice so that God would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus (Romans 3:26).

True saving faith in Jesus Christ is always accompanied by repentance from sin. Repentance is agreeing with God that you have sinned against Him, confessing your sins to Him, and making a willing decision to turn from sin (Luke 13:2-5; 1 Thess.1:9) and pursue Christ (Matthew 11: 28-30; John 17:3) and obedience to Him (2 Corinth. 5:15; 1 John 2:3).  It isn’t enough to just believe certain facts about Christ. Even Satan and his demons believe in the true God (James 2:19), but they don’t love or obey Him.  True saving faith is always accompanied by patterns of obedience (Matthew 7:21-23; 1John 2:3-6).

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on
which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by
raising him from the dead.
(Acts 17:30-31)

The Bible Teaches that to reject God’s gift of Salvation in Jesus Christ is to remain under His judgment and the eternal penalty of His wrath (Rev. 21:8; 22:15).

It is with concern and true love for your eternal soul that you have been given this Bible to know for yourself the truth of God.  Jesus said…I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me (John 14:6).

Be urgent about being sure!  It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment…  (Hebrews 9:27)
